Permission of Photography / Video shooting
Requests are received for :
i) Video Shooting / photography of cargo on board or of loading/unloading of cargo from surveyors and other port-users for evidence, record or publicity of consignees;
ii) Still or movie shooting of any cargo / activity at the docks or bunders for purpose of publicity;
iii) Taking still photographs or shooting films in the docks, bunders or harbour for making documentary / educational and public service films;
iv) Shooting of commercial film scene; and
v) Shooting of scenes for advertisement or television films.
Generally the applications are received for all categories in the Secretary’s Department. However, permission to (i) is also given by the Traffic Department. It is pointed out that consequent to implementation of the ISPS, no shooting is allowed in the docks. However, in exceptional cases, requests for shooting of documentary films for promotion of the city and the port, are considered. Permission at the Gateway of India is not permissible except Maharashtra State Government functions.

How the submitted Application is further processed? After obtaining the necessary no objections from all concerned authorities, permission for shooting / photography is granted subject to the Terms and Conditions |

How to make payment ? Payment towards charges and deposit should be made by cash or demand draft preferably demand draft drawn in favour of The Board of Trustees of Port of Mumbai payable at Mumbai. |

How to apply for Site Visit permission before carrying out photography / video shooting? Applicant may apply for the permission for site visit on his letter head. |

How to apply for refund of deposit ? Application should be made on applicant’s letter head within 3 months from the date of photography / video shooting. Refund towards deposit paid will be made only through ECS No refund application will be entertained after 6 months from the date of photography / video shooting |
| Terms and Conditions | |
| (i) | Working in the docks and surroundings should not be affected; |
| (ii) | No legal liabilities shall accrue to the Port Trust on account of any loss or damage due to untoward incident or accident sustained by the member of the unit; |
| (iii) | No shots are to be taken of any vital installations or strategic points; |
| (iv) | Photography / Video shooting will be carried out under supervision of Asst. Security Officer, MbPT / Commandant, CISF, whosoever is concerned |
| (v) | An amount of security deposit equivalent to one shift of 8 hours or part thereof per location for photography / filming as is applicable to the specific request is paid; |
| (vi) | Copy of shots taken at MbPT should be provided to MbPT for record; |
| (vii) | Charges once recovered will be forfeited, if photography / video shooting is not carried out on the scheduled day; |
| (viii) | The party should inform the Chief Security Officer, MbPT, Third floor, Hamallage Building, Near Yellow Gate Police Station / Commandant, CISF, Hughes Dry Dock Building whosoever is concerned before carrying out the photography / video shooting. |
| (ix) | Permission from the Customs / Police / Navy / any other concerned authority should be obtained by the party separately; |
| (x) | If any of the conditions mentioned above is violated, the amount of Security Deposit will be forfeited. |
