Discharging of import cargo direct on to trailer of consignee

Permission for discharging of import packages from the vessel direct on to the trailers of the consignee is permitted by Dy. Traffic Manager, Cargo Accountal’s Office on a written request from the Custom House Agents / Importer with authorization letter from the consignee and no objection from the Vessel Agent.

(A) Steps :

(i)

The importer / CHA makes application in Indira Docks office with Vessel Agents’ NOC & authorization from importer.

(iii)

As per the above said permission S/Supdt concerned permits direct discharging of the cargo on the consignee / CHA’s trailer / truck at the sole risk and responsibility of the Consignee / CHA.

(i)	How to apply? Application on the letter head of CHA / Importer as per format at Application Form furnishing details of cargo/vessel is made by him along with Vessels Agents NOC, and authorization letter from importer.
(ii)	Where to apply ? In the office of Dy. Traffic Manager, Cargo Accountal
(iii)	How the submitted Application is further processed? Permission is granted by Dy. Traffic Manager, CA. Shed Supdt. after verifying the same permits discharging of cargo directly on consignees/CHA’s trailer/truck. The trailer/truck loaded with the cargo is parked at a suitable location to avoid any inconvenience to traffic / cargo operations or allowed to be offloaded at the storage area earmarked by sectional Asstt. Manager pending completion of cargo clearance formalities.
