Circulars issued to tenants / lessees in terms of
Supreme Court Judgement dated 13.01.2004
in the general rent revision matters

By this office circulars bearing Nos.EM/AS-6/SLP/1252 & 1621 dated 27.04.2005 and 22.05.2006 respectively, all registered tenants / lessees were requested to furnish the enumeration of actual occupants on Port Trust premises in the format enclosed therewith for proper implementation of the Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgement dated 13.01.2004. 

It is observed that the above information has not been furnished in many cases despite clear intimation that the same was required to be furnished immediately during the month of January every year. 

All registered tenants / lessees of Mumbai Port Trust are therefore once again requested to furnish the declaration of actual occupants on Port Trust premises in the enclosed format duly completed within 30 days from the date hereof and also during the month of January every year. 

It may please be noted that as decided by the Board of Trustees of the Port of Mumbai (Board), failure to furnish the self-declaration will attract penalty of 3 months revised rent / compensation calculated based on 6% per annum return on the rates prescribed in the Ready Reckoner for the year 2006 with 4% increase every October for every year of delay without prejudice to Board’s rights and remedies in the matter.
