Capt. Bhabatosh Chand assumed charge as Deputy Conservator, Head of Marine Department, Mumbai Port Trust with effect from 16.04.2019

Capt. Chand has acquired Certificate of Competency as Master of Foreign Going ship issue by DG Shipping and Pilot license from MbPT and NMPT.

He has more than 15 years of experience in operational, administrative and other Port functions in the premier Ports of Mumbai, New Mangalore Port Trust and VOC Port Trust. He has worked on several committees for formulating and implementing Port policies

Capt. Chand began his career in the Port sector as a Pilot on Contract, Class I Officer in the Marine Department of Mumbai Port Trust in 2004. He has worked as a Dock Master and Harbour Master at New Mangalore Port Trust from 2010 to 2016 and as a Deputy Conservator at VOC Port Trust from 2016-2018.He is closely associated with sports and cultural activities in Mumbai Port.He was given additional responsibilities as CE (Statutory), CME (Statutory) and presided sports council at VOC Port Trust.Also prior to join Port sector he has vast sailing experience on various type of Merchant Ships.
