Mumbai Port Authority

In spite of competition from Private and Minor Ports, Mumbai Port handled all time high cargo of 67.26 million tonnes during the FY 2023-24  surpassing the previous all-time high of 63.61 million tonnes handled during FY 2022-23. Traffic during the year 2023-24 increased by 6.14% over previous year 

Major commodities which have shown increasing trend during the year are:

• Crude Oil and POL Products handled at Jawahar Dweep & Pir Pau increased by 6.73 % and 11.18 % respectively.
• Steel handled in Docks (Indira dock + O.C.T.) was 5.38 million tonnes.

This is increase of 36.55 % over previous year (3.94 million tonnes). Cargo handled at anchorages (transhipment of dry bulk cargoes to Dharamtar /PNP & Karanja ) was 15.29 million tonnes which also all-time high.

• Efficiency parameters also improved in 2023-24 over the previous year. In spite of increase in parcel size , the TRT improved from 67.42 hours previous year to 62.97 hours in 2023-24.
• The Average Ship Berthday Output of 11152 tonnes is all time high of Mumbai Port.
