AMNESTY SCHEME -
“The
Board of Trustees of the Port of Mumbai have accorded sanction to
extend the reintroduced
Amnesty Scheme to compromise all the pending suits and decrees pertaining
to Sale Deficits, Pre-confiscation charges and Destruction charges etc.
till 31.01.2011".
Salient features of the scheme are as under:
(i) Suits/Decrees involving basic claim up to Rs. 2 lakhs will
be compromised on payment
of 30% of the claim amount, excluding interest;
(ii) Suits/Decrees involving basic claim exceeding Rs.2 lakhs will be
compromised on payment of Rs.60,000 + 50% of the claim amount above Rs.2
lakhs, excluding interest;
(iii) To avail of the benefit of the scheme, you are requested to make the payment
by submitting an application of your Company's / Firm's Letter Head
addressed to Chief Law Officer and Advocate, MbPT along with Pay Order / Demand Draft in favour of 'The Board of Trustees of the Port of Mumbai' as per the
scheme. On receipt of the payment the necessary instructions to Solicitors for withdrawal of the suit will be given.
(iv) The Re-introduced Amnesty Scheme is extended upto 31.01.2011,
in view of requests received from port users
